The pupils welcomed a surprise visitor recently when John Kiely dropped by. He was very giving of his time and he spent up to two hours sitting and chatting with the children and signing Limerick jerseys, All Ireland programmes, hurleys, sliotars and boots!! The children asked John many interesting questions about Limerick winning the All-Ireland Hurling Final. The pupils were given a fantastic insight into the Limerick Hurling Team, their training techniques and how they felt on the run up the All Ireland Hurling Final Day and becoming All-Ireland Hurling Chmpions after a 45year wait! It was an opportunity the boys and girls in Barna NS didn’t expect and they feel extremely lucky and grateful to have had the wonderful chance to chat with the great Limerick Hurling Manager, John Kiely.
